Handel's Messiah Debut is a Spectacular Musical and Spiritual Experience

Manfred Honeck was Genius last night 12-2-2011 as he recreated his Wonderful Theatrical Rendition of the Marvelous Music written ages ago (1741)by George Frideric Handel with choir scripture by Charles Jennens. This is not your every Sunday Choir! Honeck wanted his debut to be a experience unlike any other in a more meaningful way...and his success is astounding! The choir takes us on a journey through American History as travelers on a quest to a new land. Their experiences during their waiting areas help humanity reflect on how we relate to one another. The powerful score is flawlessly performed with the expertise of concertmaster Noah Bendix-Balgley bringing to life the subtle and almost magical strings of his violin. Laura Heimes and Lindsay Ammann have Lovely, expressionistic solo voices which resonate through Pittsburgh's beautiful Heinz Hall so much that I'd like to go again today! Soloists William Ferguson and Philip Cutlip perform outstanding feats as they sing their arias perfectly sometimes even while laying down in distress! The Pittsburgh Mendelssohn Choir works without a sheet of music to quietly move about the stage unfolding a timeless and sometimes delightful story through musical excellence to help us reflect upon human nature and the Joyous Glad Tidings to everyone that this Holy Day Season brings to the World. Running only through Sunday December 4th 2011 it is a beautiful experience to warm your heart and enrich the season. Bring your Loved ones and Call me at F. Tambellini's 412-391-1091, I will be open all through the production to share your Joy through Camaraderie and Great Food! Thank You, Janet and Charlie Pellegrini
